MIDDLETOWN, CT – Area residents and supporters gathered Friday evening for a high-energy "Happy Hour Meet & Greet" with Jim Jinks, a Democratic candidate for State Senate District 13, which includes parts of Middletown, Middlefield, Cheshire and Meriden.

The event provided a platform for community members to engage directly with Jinks regarding his vision for the district. The atmosphere was enthusiastic, with discussions on key issues ranging from local economic growth to community-driven policy. Jinks spent the evening moving through the crowd, listening to concerns from constituents and sharing his legislative priorities.

"Seeing this kind of turnout on a Friday night is incredibly humbling," said Jim Jinks. "Our campaign is about people and the shared belief that we can make our district a better place to live and work. Tonight wasn’t just about politics; it was about community and the conversations that will shape our future in the State Senate.”

Jinks held the event at a local Main Street staple, Perk on Main, which recently celebrated the opening of its fourth Pedals Juice and Smoothie Bar location right next door. Jinks emphasized his commitment to supporting small businesses and the local economy within the 13th District and praised owner Katie Hughes-Nelson's commitment to sustainability.

Jinks, a sales and marketing executive and dedicated community advocate, highlighted his commitment to public service and willingness to take on tough fights, pledging to be a tireless voice for all residents of the 13th District. He is participating in Connecticut’s Citizens’ Election Program, which aims to keep big money out of politics and relies on local small dollar contributions.

The campaign will continue its momentum with a series of upcoming meet the candidate events and door-knocking across the four-town district. For more information on the campaign, to volunteer, or to donate to please visit www.jimjinksct.com

Born and raised in Connecticut, Jim has lived in the district for thirteen years with his wife, Marie, their four children, and their dog, CJ. He holds an undergraduate degree in history from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in Public Policy from Trinity College.
